Pepperoni Pizza in 1:6 Scale

DSC_0549 (2)I made this as a gift for a customer. She collects miniatures in 1:6 scale.

Clay Pizza is fun but also time consuming. This took most of the day but it was worth it. I hope she is pleasantly surprised when it arrives!

Some day, when I have this process down to a science, I would like to post a tutorial. In the meantime, I wanted to share my  recent effort.

Constructive criticism and suggestions  welcomed 🙂

  1. How. Do. You. DO THAT?! It looks perfectly real! If you had shown it on a plate or something, I would have thought it was a real pizza! You are SO GOOD. Help! I LOVE IT! *Sigh* XD

One teensy tiny suggestion: perhaps you could pull the sauce out onto the crust a bit more randomly since that might look more imperfect but real. I guess the sauce-perfection depends if your pizza was made by Pizza Hut or by… um, us. XD Our pizzas have sauce on the crust, but then again, they don’t look nearly so delicious as yours. XD

    • Allison, I agree the sauce could be pulled out more. My hubby also suggested the crust was too symmetrical. I think you both have a good eye and offer good advice 🙂 I think a lot of the realism was achieved through touching up with paint…adding the ‘semi burnt’ bits on the cheese and crust. That’s when it started to pop. I did that with a fine brush and glaze mixed with paint.
