Rainy Weekend Project: Mini books!

I wasn’t exactly sure of what I would receive, but 30 mini books under $15 seemed like a good deal to me. This kit is called “My Miniature Library” and you can find it at Amazon at an affordable price. Also, I don’t shy away from spending a day cutting and folding paper (it wasContinue reading “Rainy Weekend Project: Mini books!”

Copyright Infringement, Fair Use, and Dollhouse Miniatures.

Do you remember the squeal you suppressed the first time you saw a miniature book of one of the classics? A tiny package of oreos? Or a half inch tall Yankee candle? We love to see familiar objects shrunken down. I know it brings out that little kid in me. That’s not hard to do!Continue reading “Copyright Infringement, Fair Use, and Dollhouse Miniatures.”

DIY doll Furniture

My growing doll collection needed some furniture. Currently, I’m working on a bedroom diorama for our 1:8 scale BJDs (ball jointed dolls). As mentioned in another post, dollhouse furniture in 1:12 scale is quite acceptable for these dolls. In fact, it’s a very cute fit as it appears the dolls are using child-scale furniture. YouContinue reading “DIY doll Furniture”

A Tiny Room for Mother…

This Christmas,  I made a room box for my mom. My husband made the outer wooden box and I made the inner foam box ‘room’. If you want to see a tutorial on how to make a room box, Kris at ‘1 inch minis‘ has a great one to follow. The furnishings are a mixContinue reading “A Tiny Room for Mother…”

Little Pretties

Warning…in the event you go reeling at the colour pink, there is lots of it coming up…… My favourite miniatures to make are sweets. I had been working on a little display cart to showcase my minis for when I attend sales. I made this wooden peddler’s cart (which I still plan on embellishing aContinue reading “Little Pretties”

Making minis for my girls…

This is where my obsession all started. After watching a few youtube tutorials on making doll food, I thought I would give it a whirl. Money was tight and I had 3 little girls who loved their dolls. I felt confident I could make some cute foods for their barbies…and so I went to Michael’sContinue reading “Making minis for my girls…”

A Miniature Pond Tutorial

I’m determined for my English cottage dollhouse to have a little garden. In that garden will be lavender, a bench, some dainty flowers, and this koi pond. And a zen like peace. I made this using a mason jar band as a base. First, I formed a cane for my bricks using white, beige superContinue reading “A Miniature Pond Tutorial”

An Apothecary Table & Potted Lavender

Recently, I made this apothecary table out of bass and balsa wood. Polymer clay is still my first love, but I thought I might branch out a little…by trying my hand at miniature furniture. My dollhouse needs some furniture, and after all, necessity is the mother of invention. I loved making these so much thatContinue reading “An Apothecary Table & Potted Lavender”

Chicken Skewers for American Girl dolls

Today I made these grilled chicken on skewers from polymer clay, for my shop. The scale works for any 18″ doll, or larger ball jointed dolls. As a thank you to my small (but much appreciated) following, I thought I’d do my first give – away!! The prize consists of 2 grilled chicken skewers, madeContinue reading “Chicken Skewers for American Girl dolls”

A Parcel of Goodies

I was out of province for the past week, spending time with my eldest daughter, who had a tonsillectomy. When I returned home I was happily tackled by 3 little ones, my husband, and our fur baby, Lenny. And…as an added bonus, a parcel from Italy was waiting for me too! I had to shareContinue reading “A Parcel of Goodies”
